Iran, Libya Discuss Oil Cooperation

TEHRAN - Iranian Ambssador to Libya Nasrollah Mirzaee Nasir in a meeting on Tuesday with Libyan Minister of Energy Abdullah Salam Albadri discussed oil cooperation and promotion of bilateral ties. During the meeting, also attended by Director of National Iranian Drilling Company, Bahmani, the Libyan minister voiced readiness of his country to cooperate with Iran in all available fields of cooperation, adding that he personally encourages all oil-related institutes in his country to preferably cooperate with Iran. The Iranian ambassador said in the meeting that Iranian oil experts have proved their capabilities during last two decades in any fields of oil industry in Iran and outside the country, citing the example of extinguishing fires of kuwaiti oil wells during the Persian Gulf War. He remarked that Iranian experts are fully ready to upgrade oil export mechanisms in cooperation with their Libyan colleagues.

The ambassador also submitted a written message from Iranian Oil Minister Bizhan Zangeneh to his Libyan counterpart. (IRNA)
